Transition from FS 1 to FS 2

To help your child’s move to their new class to be as happy and as smooth as possible the following will take place over the next term. An opportunity will be given to your child to visit the FS 2 setting where they will meet their new teacher and the teaching assistants. They will also be invited to try a school dinner. As well as this parents and carers will be invited to attend a meeting to talk about what happens in FS 2. Letters will be sent out at a later date to let you know more.

FS 1 Open Evening

We would like to invite all parents and carers of children in FS 1 (nursery

) to an informal open evening on Tuesday 11th May. The evening will start at 4pm and finish at 6pm and will be run on a drop in basis.

The purpose of the evening is to give you the opportunity to look around FS 1, ask questions about how your child learns while they are here and look at your child’s ‘Learning Journey’. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be on offer.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to talk about your child’s individual progress at this time. If you do have any concerns that you wish to discuss come and speak to a member of the FS 1 staff to arrange a convenient date and time. We are more than happy to do this.

P.E. All morning children now take part in p.e. Monday- Squirrel group, Wednesday- Hedgehog group and Thursday Badger group.
Please make sure your child comes to school dressed in black shorts, a white tee-shirt and black plimsolls.
We will ensure the children change back into their day clothes once the p.e. session is over.
For safety reasons earrings should be removed. Please make sure that your child’s name is in their P.E. kit and in their school uniform as well.

 ICT in the computer suite is now available to all the Morning children.

Snack. If you pay Snack money by the half term, it is now due. Please could you see Mrs Lilley about payment? We are asking for a contribution of 50 pence per week.

If you have any problems with this please don’t hesitate to let us know. We would also appreciate it if you could let us know if your child has any food allergies or is unable to eat specific foods for religious or any other reasons. Thank you.

At home

 The Firm Foundation Packs will continue to be sent home each week. They will be sent out on a Monday. Please return them by the Thursday of the same week.

Please could we ask that the packs are returned complete and in the same condition that they were given out. If anything is missing, please let us know. Thank you. 

Library. Each Wednesday, children from both the morning and the afternoon sessions will have an opportunity to choose a book from the school library. This book is for you and your child to share together, not for your child to read to you. Each book borrowed needs to be returned before another one can be taken home.

We value the support of all our parents and carers. If you have any worries or concerns about your child do feel free to come and talk to us. If we are unable to see you there and then we will arrange a time convenient for everyone
