The first BIG sign of Christmas was
the arrival of our Christmas Tree !!!!

Our enormous Christmas Tree arrives. Jim, the Christmas Tree man delivered
our Christmas Tree
today and most of the male members of staff helped him erect it
in the hall watched by
years 3 and 4 2who were practicing their Christmas Play!

Twelve Days - Can you work out which is which ???

We had a good Christmas Fair today.
Friday 2nd December
Santa came and lots of parents and friends.

Here is a montage of the fun...

The Things......

The People

It was a WOW !!

And

Thanks to everyone who supported the Christmas Fayre
we banked just short of £1000 into school fund.

We had a special assembly this morning (6/12/2011)from our
" Open The Book"
friends David and Margaret.
David dressed up as a boy from Mr White's class and Margaret asked him if he knew the meaning of Christmas.

He gave a lot of answers but then Margaret gave him a present.

It turned out to be a knitted nativity and he learned  that the birth of Jesus was what Christmas was all about.

We sang the song Jesus is the reason for the season song. We thoroughly enjoyed it - such fun sharing our celebrations at school with friends!

KS 1 did their play  "The Hopeless Camel" to parents and friends on Monday and Tuesday this week. (W/C5/12/2011)
The children all tried really hard anfd sang and acted their socks off.
The result was a real festive treat for everyone.

It was a cheeky play retelling the biblical nativity, interlaced with the story of a loveable camel who has no sense of direction and always gets lost.
The hopeless camel eventually meets Jesus in the stable at Bethlehem and becomes the most happiest, ,most hopeful camel ever!
There were excellent performances from lots of children and parents can be very proud of the show they put on.

Clifton Green had decorated a Christmas Tree for the Christmas tree Festival at Clifton Methodist Church.
The minister there is none other than our own Mrs Godfrey's husband and he met us at church this morning and we all enjoyed hearing how his church family celebrate.
He showed us the advent candles, gave us a quiz about the Christmas trees, gave us a drink and biscuits then told us the Christmas Story.
Our tree was on the 12 days of Christmas theme that we have decorated school in this year.
The church looked fantastic - warm and welcoming and we really enjoyed our visit. Thank you so much to the people from the church who helped arrange it and made the refreshments.

Year 5 present Young Voices December 2011…

On Wednesday 7th December 2011, Year 5 along with the teaching staff and Mr Brown had a great night out at the Sheffield Arena!

We had the pleasure of taking part in the 15th Young Voices Concert, alongside other East Midlands and Yorkshire schools plus groups and artists such as the High Kings and Connie Talbot.

We arrived at the arena and placed our banner high up so that the concert presenter could locate us.

Once we’d settled into our seats we began a 2 hour rehearsal, during which we practised hard but had a good time. Everybody tried their best.

All schools together, surrounding the main stage.

For the Young Voices event everybody was given a special t-shirt and even a Santa hat!
