Welcome to Year 3

I hope you all have a great time in W3!

Our Routines

• PE is on a Monday and a Wednesday. (Please remember your kits)

• Spellings are given out on a Mondays, ready to be learnt for our test on Fridays.

• Numeracy homework is given out on a Wednesday and it is to be returned on Fridays.

• Literacy homework is given out on a Friday, and it is to be returned on Mondays.

• Library is on a Thursday. Don’t forget to bring your books back. You won’t be able to get a new one if you don’t!

Lets work really hard in order to make 3W the best class in the school.

A Real Viking

This week (W/e25-4-2008) we had a special surprise – a visit from a real Viking! Astrid came and spoke to us about what life was like for Vikings all those years ago.

She told us all about the Viking way of life which included how the Vikings farmed their own land. She also showed us what children did during the day, and believe me, it wasn’t fun!

There certainly wasn’t any playing involved, it was all work, work, work!

Literacy

This week (W/e 18th April 2008) in Literacy we have been looking at Plays and have been focusing on acting out a stage version of The Twits by Roald Dahl. We have been looking at stage directions to help us and have had a really good time acting out various scenes from this play.

Mr White’s class had an Egg-traordinary last day of term in which they made their very own Easter boxes.

 They looked at creating the best type of packaging that would hold a small Easter egg. This involved them designing the net for the packaging, and making sure that it was bright and colourful enough for someone to want to buy it.
