Literacy and Numeracy Homework given Friday to be handed in by the following Thursday. Spellings given out Monday and tested on Friday.

We have P.E on Monday mornings and Tuesday afternoons. Don’t forget a change of t-shirt, shorts and plimsolls. Trainers may be worn for outdoor games

We have a library session each week, on a Friday, when we change our library books. Books may be kept for 1 or 2 weeks at a time.

 

All children in Year 4 will learn to play the trumpet and the violin as part of their music curriculum.

We spent an interesting and most enjoyable afternoon finding out how maths is used at St.Luke’s church, as part of our “Maths in the Community Week”.

An artist came to work with us in class.
We made giant newspaper body sculptures!
We made life-size casts of our bodies, stuffed them with newspaper,
then decorated them with tape to make them look like different characters. We even managed to make our own “Willy Wonka”, to fit with our year 4 class book.

             Springtime        

Spring is when shoots burst out,

And flowers begin to grow,

White snowdrops and yellow daffs,

In little clumps, row on row.

Spring is lambs with soft, white fleeces,

Frolicking, skipping, jumping,

Through fresh green fields of daisies,

With tails behind them wagging!

Spring is delicious chocolate,

In wrappers of shiny gold,

In shapes of eggs and rabbits,

At Tesco they are sold!

Spring is when we think of Jesus,

With a crown of thorns on his head ,

He was crucified upon a cross,

  At Easter he rose from the dead.
