 Below are some important weekly events for your diary/planner.

Spellings are set on Monday and to be learnt for Friday

Reading books need to be brought to school every day in your book bag. Make sure you read at home every night.

For homework see above (other subject homework and times will be set accordingly.

Recycling Scheme.

 In addition to becoming the best class, M5 also run the school’s paper recycling scheme.  Waste paper is collected diligently from around the school by monitors in the morning and afternoon breaks. The paper is then collected by a local company ready to be turned into new paper and in turn saving another oxygen providing tree!  For every half ton of paper the school will receive £15.

 The recycling scheme can also be extended by allowing children to collect paper, old newspapers, junk mail etc. at home and then delivering it to school ready to be recycled.

Book Day and Guest Author

Our guest author, Martin Riley, inspired us with tales of his writing.  Martin left M5 with some very useful tips on how to be a successful writer.

Maths in the Community visit to York City

We really enjoyed a tour of the ground before learning about how the club makes money form hospitality for our maths activity. This involved calculating costs with VAT, writing an invoice and finally making payment by cheque.  We all absolutely loved this insight into a football clubs financial life.   Our thanks go to Mrs. Louise Jackson and Dan Parker for their help
